Staff Engineer-Current Product Development
Location: Kohler, WI

Under the functional guidance of the department Manager, the Staff Engineer will perform product design engineering activities for Current Product Development projects. Often working without direct, constant guidance, the Staff Engineer will bring a high level of technical skill and product understanding in the areas of design, analysis, development and testing of products and components. Primary responsibilities include cost reduction engineering on existing product lines and components. There is a strong possibility that responsibilities will include direct management of multiple associates.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
Typically has 8 or more years of work experience to obtain this level of innovation, results, and competence. However, an advanced degree or track record of high performance, innovation, results and demonstrated competency at the prior level may be considered as an alternative to up to 3 years of work experience.
Ability and strong desire to coach, develop, motivate, and direct the activities of less senior engineers and technical support personnel.
Readily capable of applying engineering tools to practical problem solving and working knowledge of advanced product-related technologies.
Ability to undertake multiple projects of moderate complexity along with several smaller projects, as well as impromptu assignments on an as needed basis, with minimal supervision.
Previous successful leadership of engineering or cross-functional team is desirable.
Functional familiarity with Pro-E CAD system is desired.
Experience with SAP is a positive, as well as the demonstrated ability to research and manage product data.
