A Staff Engineer

  • Coatings job in Warrendale, PA is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be managing assigned industry programs for task groups, develop checklists, and state of the art consensus qualification procedures. You will also recruit qualified auditors, schedule pilot audits of suppliers using available and contracted resources, as well as publish audit/survey reports working through committee structure and due process. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field, as well as at least five (5+) years of experience in the Aerospace Industry in the Coatings process (thermal spray, diffusion coatings, vapor deposition, coating evaluation laboratory, stripping of coatings, heat treating of coated parts, dry film lubrication of coated parts). In addition, you should have experience in Quality Systems (Coatings). This is a direct position that offers competitive pay, as well as excellent benefits!

Staff Engineer

  • Coatings Job Duties:
  • Manages technical audit reports generation/assessment with strict confidentiality and compliance with procedural and regulatory requirements

  • Manages assigned personnel including consultants (technical auditors and reviewers).

  • Ensures effective closure of audit reports for timely issuance of certificates solving conformance issues, provides technical summary reports to the assigned task group, and provides required alerts in eAuditNet.

  • Motivates and guides Industry Managed Committee and/or Task Groups activities in developing standards, manuals, and reviewing audit reports including planning, recruiting qualified technical volunteers, monitoring/managing results.

  • Conducts technical audits as required, reviews/updates audit reports, follows-up and close non-conformances

  • Recommends process improvements for assigned programs. Identifies gaps/problems and report to appropriate management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, required, may accept a degree in a related field.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Five (5+) years of experience in the Aerospace Industry required

  • Five (5+) years of experience in Quality Systems, preferred

  • Ability to travel 30% of the time (domestic and international).

  • Auditing experience / knowledge of Quality Management Systems, preferred

  • Professional Engineer / Member of professional body, preferred.

Qualifications & Skills * Bachelors Degree in Engineering, required, may accept a degree in a related field. * 5 years technical experience in Coatings Technologies or related field. * 5 years experience in Quality Systems, preferred. * 5 years experience working with technical industry standards, preferred. * Professional Engineer / Member of professional body, preferred. * Auditing experience / knowledge of Quality Management Systems, preferred. * 5 years experience in the Aerospace Industry, preferred * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to operate a Computer, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Technical knowledge of appropriate materials science/engineering disciplines/methods. * Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident as required by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). * Ability to travel 30% of the time, domestic and international. * Ability to work for long periods at a computer/desk. * Standard office environment.
