Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support for non-conformances, engineering investigations, supplier technical issues, engineering changes, and government questions related to the assigned missile section

  • Supporting root cause analysis, fault isolation, and corrective action on production failures

  • Determining and communicating status on failure trends derived from data mining and analysis as the engineering representative of a cross functional investigation team

  • Providing technical support to the assigned missile section IPT Lead to help drive continuous product and process improvements including design updates

  • Conducting/assisting with system and subsystem requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability

  • Reviewing, understanding, and assisting with the generation of well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents

  • Assisting in developing verification and validation tests of the requirements

  • Must be able to assist and learn from experienced senior engineers while working on complex electronic, mechanical and active/passive radar missile systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum 14 years' experience; or Master's degree with 12 years' experience; or PhD with 9 years' experience.

  • Must be able to successfully obtain a US Gov't issued Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by Management; current/active Secret clearance preferred.

  • Experience in systems and hi-tech product development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Production and manufacturing experience to aid in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and improving missile subsystem issues is preferred.

  • Lab environment experience is desired.

  • Ability to develop Matlab scripts is a plus.

  • Working level DOORs experience helpful.

A Day in the Life * Architect, build, deploy and manage a system that perform over-the-air firmware upgrades to medical devices * Participate and lead the design and development of mobile apps connected to insulin pumps and glucose monitoring devices * Participate in engineering an ecosystem of medical devices connected to cloud based data systems with machine learning * Engineer the design of mobile apps on iOS and Android platforms to improve people's ability to manage their diabetes * Perform technical analysis methods such as functional analysis, timeline analysis, and trade studies * Develop system concepts, capture user needs, and create use cases or user stories * Write and manage requirements * Develop web communications interface designs, protocols, and documentation * Define, plan, and conduct formal technical design and test reviews * Lead, plan, schedule, conduct, and monitor testing activities * Guide, develop, and review verification strategies, test designs, test tools, planned execution and completeness of documentation * Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. * Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. * Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. * Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
