Provides high level technical support for intelligent automation software and applications used within Paychex. Researches, architects, designs, creates and supports applications and intelligent automation solutions inclusive of technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Sets technical direction, mentors, and provides guidance to others. Responsible for the research and development, over-arching design, and go-forward strategies for intelligent automation solutions.
Proactively provides Business Unit and IT partners with insight to new technology concepts so they can be incorporated into strategic plans and roadmaps.
Performs business unit analysis and makes recommendations to enhance end user and customer experience with available software solutions.
Provides technical direction for the Intelligent Automation program
Advanced knowledge in multiple intelligent automation technologies, including but not limited to Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Business Process Mining (BPM), etc
Able to influence intelligent automation program direction by using industry knowledge, data, and benchmarks
Mentors and trains team members. Shares expertise and provides technical leadership to others as required in order to increase knowledge and availability of Paychex resources.
Makes presentations to internal customers, client audiences or professional peers up to the VP level, on technical solutions related to team software and applications for the purpose of cross training and to enhance the business's use of the systems tool sets.
Stays up to date in the fast-paced industry of intelligent automation on the latest technologies, trends, processes, and strategies
Comfortable speaking and providing updates up to Executive Management on intelligent automation technologies and process
Investigates how disparate applications and systems within Paychex can integrate with intelligent automation technologies, and designs solutions to remove interoperability barriers.
Ensures intelligent automation technologies follow and keep up with latest architectural guidance.
Creates infrastructure documentation in alignment with and on behalf of Infrastructure Solution Leads for new technologies that are added to the intelligent automation platform.
Write business proposals for new software and applications or upgrades to current tools for use in the Paychex infrastructure.
Validates requirements, performs analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation and support for assigned projects to drive application changes.
Reviews or provides input to documentation for other departments (e.g. R&D, infrastructure, support, training, business units).
Ensures team compliance with standards for consistency of coding. Recognizes code, process and/or standard inefficiencies and suggests new standards and opportunities for improvement.
Participates in investigation of opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations. May consult technical equipment / software vendors and current users in these evaluations.
Observes and communicates performance of team members to assist in their development.
Responds to questions and researches / resolves issues to provide technical support for production applications including high impact production issues.
Acquires and utilizes strong technical and / or application knowledge to independently produce deliverables and recognizes the impact (e.g. design documentation, system changes).
Acts as a technical leader by making significant technical contributions (e.g. designs and documents program changes, provides technical direction) within intelligent automation.
Demonstrates versatility of knowledge and applies strong technical skill base to contribute to any application (including those outside application area).
Independently applies new intelligent automation technologies in condensed timeframes to advance Paychex business objectives. Acts as a catalyst for change to improve application design.
Participates in defining, selecting, and implementing Intelligent Automation technical direction of Paychex to help meet business objectives.
When needed, participates in technical interview process.
Understands application health best practices, documentation, and reporting on key metrics to demonstrate applications are healthy
Partners with other software engineer teams, Leads, and Staff Engineers to align on best practices and standards. Is able to follow best practices and processes defined by partner teams as part of the SDLC.
Knowledge of CI/CD principles and able to implement them within application development stacks
Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience - Required
7 years of experience in Related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years of experience in Intelligent Automation technologies.
Possesses strong technical aptitude.
UiPath Advanced Developer Certification (or other equivalent) - Preferred
