The Staff Engineer, Coatings position will be responsible for maintaining an understanding of leading-edge coating systems (both functional & aesthetic) and providing technical direction for the development and/or application of new or enhanced coating systems. This position requires the ability to drive innovation, improve customer experiences, and contribute to business growth based on understanding and applying technical fundamentals across a wide range of coating systems and application processes. The ability to conceive, plan, and execute thorough evaluations of material- and process-related physical and chemical properties is a basic expectation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Initiate and/or execute research and development projects focused on product improvement via integration of new or improved coating technologies.

  • Prepare project plans for the qualification of new and/or improved coating and application technologies. This includes quantification of technical objectives, definition of consumer and business benefits, assessment of risks, preparation of schedule plans, and project/product cost estimates.

  • Direct and/or coordinate work by engineers, support personnel, and/or outside groups involving development, prototype construction, and/or testing of potential materials and processes. Work closely with project groups to ensure materials satisfy performance, aesthetic, and cost requirements to deliver benefits to consumers and the business.

  • Maintain project records and prepare technical, cost, and other reports to show project progress as required.

  • Contribute sound professional advice, creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product development projects and manufacturing.

  • Keep abreast of coating technologies across a broad spectrum of applications/industries. Communicate information regarding new and/or novel materials and processes to others in the organization as appropriate.

  • Regularly consult senior management regarding material/coating technologies and advise on appropriate strategies.

Skills/Requirements

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; preferably in materials science engineering, chemical engineering, or composites engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant, increasing experience in coating-specific activities.

Additional skills sought include:

  • Specific areas of expertise such as new material formulation, surface enhancement, coating development, and other material research-and-development-related activities are desirable.

  • Experience in a manufacturing/application role is preferred.

The Manager–Manufacturing Engineering, Coatings and Waste Treatment will lead a team that is responsible for creating, selecting, improving, designing, and defining Coatings & Waste Treatment manufacturing processes within Global Faucets. Processes will be created and designed to ensure all products are manufactured cost effectively to a single high level of quality and that manufacturing capabilities produce products that are on the leading edge of design and innovation. The Manager-Manufacturing Engineering will ensure all manufacturing facilities are utilizing consistently the most appropriate, current, and globally standardized processes. The ideal candidate will have wide variety of manufacturing process experience for application to product design. This position can be located at one of the Global Faucets manufacturing locations in China or United States. Skills/Requirements Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. * Minimum of 15 years of Process Engineering experience. * Five years of management responsibility in an engineering environment where quality, innovation, and time-to-market are priorities. * Advanced knowledge & expertise in Plating, PVD, Organics coatings and waste water treatment processes are required. * Demonstrated ability to provide leadership & development to a globally located staff. * Generates and implements innovative technical solutions to solve problems. * Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 35% of the time.
