SALARY: $125,600 - $226,800, bonus and long-term incentive eligible

ROLE SUMMARY:

Backend Services is an engineering discipline that focuses on developing and managing collection of self-contained distributed (software) and embedded (IoT, PLC/HMIs etc.) services. These services are designed to be highly available and reliable. They are built on reusable tools, adapters, common architecture and compute design patterns. They power workflows, business logic, transformation and bi-directional communication of infrastructure, data sources, data platforms and API/Edge services thereby forming core systems.

As a Staff Software Engineer working across the full stack of multiple engineering pods, you will be a key contributor to ensure end-to-end functionality in applications and services through contributing to and bringing together every layer of the tech stack together. You will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direct management of several individual contributor junior and senior software engineer(s) responsible for building and supporting next generation software solutions. You will also have the opportunity to influence architecture and the technology stack to promote the quality and innovation necessary for industry-changing, data-driven machine learning systems.

JOB RESPONSIBIITES:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software products at scale

  • Modernize and transform legacy interfaces into modern architecture, to digitize and monetize our ecosystem.

  • Author high quality code, unit tests and integration tests to help achieve high frequency feature deployments to production services

  • Contribute to end-to-end solution design & development with work on both the front end and back end

  • Experience with design, implementation, and consumption of API services and service-oriented architecture patterns

  • Build underlying data & service layers used by applications to interact with data stores such as MS SQL, Oracle and more.

  • Participate in the design of contracts and schemas for APIs and middleware services

  • Experience in debugging and profiling applications, and improving their efficiency, scalability, and stability

  • Extensive knowledge of Core programming concepts, algorithms and data structures

  • Extensive knowledge of distributed system design concepts and design patterns

  • Establish patterns, build component libraries, and contribute to documentation

  • Proficiency with Git, Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tooling

  • Embrace continuous learning in daily work on company time to work towards company paid certifications and accreditations

  • Research and implement new technology to keep the team at the front of innovation.

  • Contribute towards the long-term technical roadmap for NAZ Engineering

JOB QUALIFCATIONS:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, or related engineering field.

Real-world experience developing scalable software.

  • Experience in designing user experiences and building federated API gateways in using modern and open source tools.

  • Passion for precision engineering, high performance software systems building software that - creates long-term sustainable value.

  • Experience with high velocity CI/CD systems, agile ways of working and A/B testing to accelerate iteration cycles.
