Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to be responsible for the design, development, and integration of real time embedded software for a multi-function sensor system. The work will involve design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of software and drivers, primarily in C . The person will need to interface with other business disciplines such as: systems engineering to develop software requirements and technical specifications, hardware engineering to support integration efforts, and program management to discuss technical program issues. The person will need to track defects, develop resolutions and report technical status. They will also need to develop and execute unit-level and product verification test plans, and track and report test status. Additionally, the selected individual will conduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents. The responsibilities include active participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), design reviews and other reviews, as required.

The selected individual will actively participate in technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end to end system point of view. Individuals must be self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a small team environment.

This position is located in Linthicum, MD.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline.

  • At least 14 years of software engineering experience in a professional setting (12 years with Master's Degree; 9 years with PhD)

  • Experience in Embedded C/C development

  • Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain an maintain a US Security Clearance at a Secret level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • ACTIVE US Security clearance at a Secret Level or higher

The Cognitive Mission Computing team is looking for people with a diverse skillset and wide range of software engineering interests. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on a diverse set of projects which will challenge the candidate in many different technical ways. As an example, the candidate may be involved in algorithm development and data analysis on one project and on another the candidate may be tasked with performing infrastructure development in an embedded or distributed system. NGMS is seeking Staff Cognitive Software Engineers to join our Advanced Intelligence Systems (AIS) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for: * Conducting research and implementing cutting edge artificial intelligence techniques. * Developing novel techniques to tackle the challenges of prediction, optimization and classification as they relate to:pattern recognition, target detection, tracking, reasoning and inferencing systems. * Employing software development best practices in order to develop scalable, real-time software solutions for a range of hardware platforms * Collaborating with hardware engineers to research, design, develop and utilize electronic data processing systems for embedded machine learning. * Engineer data processing pipelines for extracting knowledge from unstructured datasets and complex sensing modalities. * Collaborating with cross-functional teams in order to deploy machine learning algorithms to production level systems. This position is located in Linthicum, MD. Basic Qualifications: * A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics or another related STEM degree * At least 14 years of relative experience working on projects with a Bachelor's degree (12 years with a MS degree, 9 years with a PhD) * Experience conducting research in and developing artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML) software * Parallel Programming experience (CUDA, OpenCL) * Previous experience using Java or C for Object Oriented Development * Previous experience developing on a Linux Operating System * Experience utilizing open-source Artificial Intelligence libraries * Previous experience designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions * Candidates must be US Citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * An Active DoD Security Clearance at a Secret Level or higher * Previous experience with multi-thread/real-time programming * Experience developing machine learning algorithms in OpenCL/CUDA * Experience using dev. ops.
