Arcadis is actively seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer with 5+ years' experience, to join our growing Water Business Practice team in the Northeast. This candidate can work remote with office / client visits as needed, the candidate must live within 2 hours' driving distance from one of our northeast offices in NY, NJ, CT and MA.

Role description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Electrical Engineer, with consulting engineering experience, to join our team and be involved in a variety of electrical engineering tasks for Municipal and Industrial water / wastewater projects; such as those regarding design, analysis, and layout of power distribution systems, standby power systems, lighting systems, data communications, equipment relay logic, and instrumentation and controls systems, with support from one of the best-qualified consulting firms in the country and a strong nationally recognized technical staff. The Project Electrical Engineer will report to a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager.

Role accountabilities:

  • Will assist with various electrical design projects, involving municipal projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plant related facilities and associated electrical systems.

  • Responsibilities will include assisting with establishing the design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications.

  • Design work will require a basic knowledge of AutoCAD, specifically concerning as mentioned electrical systems for Engineering Design and Construction projects.

  • Will be assisting with development of construction cost estimating, code reviews, field investigations, report and memo writing and other similar electrical engineering related tasks.

  • Responsible for providing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI's (request for information).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of (5) years of experience, with (3) years of consulting experience in water/wastewater and industrial facility electrical design.

  • EIT certification or demonstrated progress towards PE.

Key Skill and Attributes

  • Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux).

  • Position requires engineer to be performance driven and client focused with strong written/verbal communication skills and an impressive work ethic.

  • Must have the ability to work productively in a team environment to coordinate with engineers of various disciplines constantly throughout the project lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).

  • (7) years of relevant experience.

  • Within 3 hours driving distance from downtown Boston, MA.
