The Staff Electrical Engineer performs broad based research, design, development, and documentation of electronics for industrial, medical and consumer products/equipment. The scope of the work consists of full life-cycle development of electronic systems/assemblies developed using waterfall and/or Agile hardware processes.
These are the primary skills you bring to the job:
Analog and digital circuit design using microcontrollers, wireless communications (WiFi, B/T, 3G/4G/LTE), user interface components (displays, touchscreen etc) and analog/power electronics.
Proficiency with schematic design and PCB layout tools
Expertise with two or more of the following:
Experience with analog/mixed-signal circuit design
Experience with microcontrollers/processors
Experience with user interface/touch/display components/circuitry
Experience with wireless communications (WiFi, B/T, LTE)
Working knowledge of industry standards for safety and EMI/EMC (UL, CSA)
Familiarity with Agile hardware processes
Documenting design requirements
Design and development with schematic capture tools (e.g. Altium Professional, Cadence Orcad, and Mentor Expedition)
Oversight of PCB layout using Altium, Cadence Allegro, and/or Mentor PADS tools
Circuit simulation using Spice
Proficiency with circuit analysis and hardware debugging
Component selection and Bill of Materials management
Root Cause analysis
Regulatory testing support
Design for manufacturability, transfer to production
