The Position:

The Staff DevOps Engineer is a key member and leader of the Clinical Decision Support product engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, administering and supporting complex, secure mission-critical products and services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Use technical analysis to assess the scalability and reliability of the engineering infrastructure

  • Design, implement, manage and orchestrate Docker Container Clusters using Orchestration Engines like native Kubernetes, Swarm, EKS

  • Design and build Docker Files, Amazon AMI's

  • Design new strategies for optimizing all aspect of the certification, CI, release, and deployment processes using the latest container and virtualization techniques

  • Help lead the transformation to modern DevOps by leveraging the latest cutting-edge technologies

  • Provide world-class customer service for requests from all stakeholders and customers including; software development, QA, sustaining and project management. Typical requests will cover CI/CD systems, Infra monitoring, and troubleshooting

  • Engage with software development, QA and project management teams to prepare for customization or enhancements required to support frequent cloud releases

  • Provide recommendations to monitor and improve our engineering infrastructure

  • Drive improvements of tools used for continuous integration, automated testing and diagnostics, and release management

  • Identify issues, collaborate with stakeholders on solutions and provide follow-up on the implementation

  • Drive the change to a DevOps culture

Your Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 8+ years of progressive hands-on experience in the DevOps, SRE functions doing large scale development with cloud technologies. AWS experience preferred

  • Experience in overall areas in DevOps including CI/CD with build & release, Internal tooling, and production operations.

  • Experience automating using infrastructure as code: AWS Cloudformation, Terraform or AWS Python/Boto API (or equivalent).

  • Hands-on automation development using configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Saltstack.

  • Hands-on System Administration experience with Unix based systems including experience with system configuration and networking (DNS, DHCP, rout tables and routing).

  • Scripting experience using bash/shell, python, ruby or similar languages.

  • Extensive working experience with modern container technologies; Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, EKS, ECS or equivalent

  • Proficiency with log monitoring and analytics using solutions like Splunk, ELK

  • Experience using APIs, microservices and other REST technologies

  • Installation, Configuration, and management of NGINX or similar technologies

  • Experience with version control and build management tools, e.g. git, Github, Gitlab.

  • Experience in Linux, Windows

  • Experience with the Atlassian toolset JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket

  • In-depth experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and the common components and services typically used with these pipelines

  • Bitbucket, Gitlab, Github, Jenkins, Bamboo, Docker, Kubernetes, Vault credential management, Artifactory, test automation platform
  • Be part of on-call rotation and help resolve production issues

Nice to Have:

  • Security experience in a healthcare tech setting

  • Experience with the design & administration of highly available engineering environments.

  • Experience working with Big Data and data visualization

  • Experience working with virtualization technology. (VMWare, OpenStack)

As a Principal DevOps Software Engineer you will actively interface with software developers, product managers, test engineers and administrators on projects d to design and develop the build, release, and deploy toolchain for DevOps while providing on-call support. You should be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, sometimes under pressure. Responsibilities include capacity planning, high availability engineering, performance tuning, and automation/tools development. You should have strong leadership skills, experience managing infrastructure through multiple product releases, and have a passion for reliability and security. Work with management to set priorities, track operational metrics. Excellent communication skills and teamwork is a must! Responsibilities: * Design and develop the build, release, and deploy toolchain for DevOps * Setup, manage and maintain parity across dev, staging and production application environments in cloud infrastructure * Provide release cadence across multiple environments * Prototype and develop cloud native architecture solutions for application needs * Design and implement monitoring infrastructure development * Provide occasional 16X5 on-call shift support for production operations Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Software Reliability Engineering/Systems Engineering/DevOps role is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level * Strong ability to architect development toolchains and cloud infrastructure * Strong knowledge of Linux systems and internals (Ubuntu preferred) * Experience in creating software to automate production systems with one of the following languages: python, ruby, java, go, etc. Python/Ruby experience is preferred * Strong working knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure (EC2, RDS, VPC peering, Route53, S3, Autoscaling) or hybrid environments (OpenStack) * Experience with container technology including Kubernetes and Docker * Good understanding of networking and related protocols; must have a strong understanding of fundamentals (HTTP, DNS, TLS) * Proficiency with source control, continuous integration (eg: git, jenkins) * Demonstrate experience troubleshooting problems and working with a team to resolve web scale production issues * Strong experience with configuration management, monitoring and systems tools (ie: Salt, Ansible, Nagios, Graphite, Fluentd, etc.).
