The Village at Germantown is seeking a full-time RN Staff Development/Staff Coordinator in Germantown, TN.

You will be responsible for planning and implementing staff development curriculum for all nursing staff, both licensed and certified, to ensure compliance with state and federally mandated nursing and resident care quality standards. This person also has responsibility for scheduling for both Healthcare and MCAL nursing staff. The Staff Development/Staffing Coordinator is expected to work as a team member in promoting excellence in nursing standards. This person looks for ways to improve procedures within the health facility, with the goal of improving patient/resident care.

Qualifications

  • RN License with a current State of TENNESSEE or Multi-State License,

with two (2) years of experience.

  • One (1) year full time paid nursing experience in the area of instruction/teaching or related area.

  • Must be able to read regulations and patient records and write clearly.

  • Must be able to communicate in a courteous, friendly manner.

  • Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.

  • Physical requirements attached.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs and monitors the education and training programs for all staff members.

  • Collaborates and provides advisement to specific departments regarding employees' educational/training needs.

  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations, mandatory in-services, reviews of nursing skills and teaching/training related to AOD.

  • Participates in staff meetings/conferences involving the coordination of the in-service education program.

The Staff Development/Staffing Coordinator does related duties as required and assigned. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.) * Plans, organizes, directs and monitors the education and training programs for all staff members. * Collaborates and provides advisement to specific departments regarding employees' educational/training needs. * Plans and conducts new employee orientations, mandatory in services, reviews of nursing skills and teaching/training related to AOD. * Participates in staff meetings/conferences involving the coordination of the in-service education program. * May serve as coordinator/instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant required CEU's (12) hours and ensure completion of annual training requirements. * Prepares the monthly schedules for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, approving or denying Paycom requests for time off as appropriate. * Prepares the daily schedule for use by the RN supervisor for assignments. * Advises the facility Administrator, Director of Nursing, and/or Department Heads regarding potential resident care or life problems. * Prepares a variety of related records and reports. * Evaluates service provision to assure quality standards, emergency preparedness policies, related audits, evaluations, and employee health. * May perform basic resident care, including the passing of medications. * Provides leadership to assigned staff and directly provides nursing care to residents in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Memory Care, as assigned. * Consistently demonstrates hospitality behavior and the core values of quality, respects, service and integrity, * All other duties assigned by Supervisor. Education and/or Experience * Minimum RN (Registered Nurse) Degree. Two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse including some medical/surgical experience and awareness of the needs of geriatric residents.
