Program
The Training & Consultation staff developer will be responsible for developing expertise in an assigned initiative area, as well as knowledgeable about how that initiative interacts with others to provide comprehensive support to our schools. Initiative areas include assistive technology, autism, inclusive practices/least restrictive environment, learning environment and engagement (behavior), multi-tiered systems of support in literacy and/or math, and secondary transition Service to schools will include training, consultation, and any other forms of technical assistance that support educators reaching all learners, with an emphasis on students with disabilities.
Description
Staff developers will work to build capacity with our LEAS by providing training and consultation services in one or more of the six federally funded initiatives as approved by IDEA: Assistive Technology, Autism, Inclusive Practices, MTSS Academics (literacy and math), Learning Environment and Engagement (behavior), and Secondary Transition. He/She/They will work collaboratively with other staff developers to plan and provide high-quality professional development and training opportunities annually that address the current and future needs of intermediate unit customers with a focus on effective and supportive instruction for all learners (especially those who are at risk) that aligns to a Multi-Tiered System of Support both academically and behaviorally.
While staff developers will be assigned to specific initiative areas, the role of a staff developer is to become knowledgeable about all areas identified in the job description. Assignments can change based on the identified needs of districts, but an educator's experience and expertise play a role in each assignment. At the current time we are especially in need of educators with a background in Special Education to support assistive technology, behavior, inclusive practices/least restrictive environment, and secondary transition initiatives.
Position requires travel with possible overnight travel, as needed.
Qualifications
PA Certificate: Instructional certificate required
Minimum of five (5) years' teaching experience preferred
Experience in conducting high-quality professional learning opportunities in a variety of formats (face-to-face, virtual, blended, etc.) required
Command of andragogy / creating engaging learning opportunities and willingness to work with a synergistic team also required
Masters degree, preferred

Full Time - 188 Days
Salary
LIUEA Professional Pay Scale (minimum $48,157 Bachelor's; $53,450 Master's), plus benefits*
