Microchip's MCU32 group is seeking an experienced sustaining design engineer to support released MIPS and ARM based microcontroller products. The role will include working with multi-sited global silicon design/test/applications and marketing teams in the areas of silicon bring up, debug, final tier customer support, tester screening and RTL design development. Candidate will also be responsible for training and mentoring team members in other non-design disciples to communicate complex customer silicon issues and resolutions. This position requires a proactive and motivated candidate with a proven record of success in a cross functional and cross site team environment. Candidate must have 5+ years of experience.
Work with Applications/Marketing/ Product Test/ Failure Analysis teams to trouble shoot and root cause silicon related failures on released products
Candidate will work on enhancements to the design and integration of various SOC subsystems and peripherals into released MIPS/ARM processor based MCUs
Provide SOC level design support to factory and field application engineering.
Provide technical updates in the form of power point presentations to management
Provide Final tier customer support to large OEMs in production
Support with Product test teams to provide tester screens and update tester program for yield enhancement
Must have good understanding of computer architecture, subsystems within MCU and interconnect protocols
Must be hands on and be able to use various test equipment: spectrum analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes..etc
Must be able to debug problems that can be at the board level, firmware level & chip level (both Analog & Digital)
Must have worked on mixed signal MPU/MCU bench level validation and design projects
Expertise in RTL coding using Verilog/SystemVerilog
Hands on Experience with C Programming Language
Proficiency in LINUX & Synopsis verdi
Excellent debug skills in both functional and gate level simulations
Good Knowledge of SOC peripherals like SDRAM, DDR2/3, UART, USB, PWM, OPAMP, ADC, Bandgap etc.
Superior Written and Verbal Communication skills
Experience working with cross functional global teams
Debug experience with SOC level Analog IP
