Ultimately the team are responsible for enabling our client's competitiveness by accelerating ROI from any data science initiative with products that transform data into insight.

Operating across sectors and with a high degree independence our data scientists have helped improve performance for F1 teams, built solutions for reducing fraud in financial trading and initiated changes in Californian traffic laws.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team. You are seeking an opportunity to deliver thought leadership, to challenge and develop both your knowledge as well as our client's data science capabilities. You will join a team of highly collaborative individuals as a senior team member and play a key role in developing our capability and establishing TIBCO leadership in the space. You will lead client conversations, represent TIBCO at industry events and draw together our TIBCO user community. The role can be based in Boston, Chapel Hill, Washington DC or New York City.

Duties

  • 5+ years of experience in advanced data analysis and delivery of demonstrations, projects, engagements or deployed software applications. Experience with applying predictive analytics such as machine learning and optimization techniques to large, complex and disparate data sources.

  • The ability to comfortably communicate with senior industry personnel, provide compelling presentations and demonstrations of analytics software, and the business value of analytics projects demonstrating domain knowledge in a key Industry such as Financial Services (preferred), Manufacturing, Energy, Telecommunications or Retail.

  • 5+ years of experience with R or Python and some knowledge of SQL and experience with other software environments e.g. SAS, Matlab, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlikview, SPSS, KNIME and/or other data mining tools. Experience with other software components for data preparation and integration e.g. Data Virtualization and Big Data tools such as Hadoop and Spark and/or further programming or scripting environments e.g. .Net, Java, IronPython, Javascript, C++ is a plus.

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related analytical field of study with graduate classes in statistics and data mining.

  • Capable of working in in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

  • Language skills: Business level English

Skills/Requirements

  • Work with Customers: Engage through presales supportincluding proofs of concept and post-sales data science consultingtypically developing AI/ML models that are deployed into operational systems.

  • Deliver Innovation: Input to product management/engineering and direct development of novel AI/ML data science software features.Define and create re-usable data science assets such as templates.

  • Increase Awareness:Create technical marketing content; author white papers, blogs and new content for the TIBCO user community. Represent the data science team as a speaker or instructor in industry events and external conferences.

  • Collaborate across stakeholder team on specific industry knowledge, analytics use cases and customer stories.

Driven by outcomes and intensely practical, the majority of our diverse staff live overseas. GWH is based in Chapel Hill, NC as a division of the UNC Department of OB-GYN. We are seeking a Research Data Programmer to support two projects: 1. A large ultrasound dataset, including scans and associated biometry and clinical information, developed with the objective of creating algorithms for new portable ultrasounds, appropriate for low-resource settings. 2. A 15,000 participant observational cohort study to document the course and outcomes of labor, delivery and the immediate postpartum period in settings where adverse birth outcomes are high (currently 4 sites: 2 in India, 1 in Zambia and 1 in Ghana; more sites may be added over time). The resulting high-quality, granular and generalizable data will be used to develop new tools to reduce intrapartum morbidity and mortality in low-resource settings. The Research Data Programmer will be responsible for managing and combining datasets from disparate data sources; and monitoring and maintaining high quality data for scientific analysis and academic research. - Experience with databases available in an academic environment. - Familiarity with good clinical practices and protection of human subjects. - Demonstrated ability to work independently, to discern appropriate (and shifting) priorities and to organize workload efficiently. - Good interpersonal communication and writing skills. - Highly Preferred: Experience coding data checks and/or building datasets in Stata, SAS, R or a similar coding language.Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 years of related experience; or a Master's degree in a related field.
