Staff Data Analyst, Investigative Risk Operations Center, Global Media Analytics (GMA)
The Staff Data Analyst, Global Media Analytics (GMA) will conduct open-source and social media analysis in aid of internal investigations, identify critical information that will support, validate, or falsify allegations, or otherwise assist in investigations, conduct due diligence research that will help executives make critical business decisions, identify networks of individuals and illustrate these through writing and charting, maintain absolute confidentiality in highly sensitive matters, train other Global Investigations associates on best practices for open source research, craft clear and concise reports to explain complex matters, benchmark GMA procedures and technology against best practices, identify emerging technologies that will support the GMA mission, build analytics and reports that will illustrate GMA workloads, maintain relationships with business partners and vendors, and ensure privacy compliance of procedures and platforms.
You'll make an impact by:
Understanding how social media and open-source information is accessed
Being familiar with many different social media platforms and privacy laws
Identifying open-source information that is relevant to specific matters or allegations
Understanding the ways people, companies, groups, and other entities can be connected
Providing network analysis on individuals or entities
Accessing and interpreting public records data
Creating refined lexicons and topics to monitor specific activity
Utilizing Boolean searches and other techniques to mine data
Producing clear and impactful visualizations in support of complex cases
Working with quickness and urgency
Writing reports skillfully, with correct grammar and formatting
Presenting findings in writing and verbally
Making complex and difficult matters simple and easily understood
Multitasking and using good judgment in prioritization of tasks
You'll sweep us off our feet if
You have strong knowledge of social media analysis or investigations.
You have a better than basic knowledge of substantive law, crime elements, and predicates.
You have prior investigative experience, specifically in digital investigations.
You have high verbal intelligence and the ability to read, write, and think critically.
You apply unconventional thinking to puzzle together disparate pieces of information.
You are proficient with network analysis, specifically i2.
You are an experienced presenter/trainer.
