The Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), a department within the Division of Student Affairs at Ohio University, seeks to fill a clinical counselor position to join an exciting team of diverse professionals. CPS is a comprehensive university counseling center located in Athens, OH, in Southeastern Ohio. CPS is an interdisciplinary and multiculturally proficient center actively engaged and committed in providing compassionate mental health services, outreach, and training. CPS fosters the mental health of students of OU and actively collaborates with staff and faculty as it strives to nurture student success, and contribute to a safe, welcoming, and multiculturally aware campus community. CPS is a dynamic part of the Division of Student Affairs and is highly utilized by students and other campus constituents seeking a variety of mental health services. Staff are cohesive, collegial, engaged, and passionate about working within a campus environment. CPS runs a large training program comprised of psychology, counselor education and social work graduate trainees and a doctoral psychology internship. CPS is an IACS accredited counseling center and has an APA accredited psychology doctoral internship program. CPS is committed to providing high quality and best standards of practice; the clinical service, training, outreach, and professional development are informed by research, local data, and benchmarking with national trends and peer institutions. CPS identifies closely with the OHIOs values and the mission and strategic plan of the Division of Student Affairs.
This is a generalist counselor position responsible for providing mental health services to student clients at Counseling and Psychological Services, including after-hours emergency, supervising Masters level graduate interns in Counselor Education and Social Work, and engaging in outreach programming.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
1.Provide individual, couple, and group counseling; doing drop-in and triage, crisis intervention, and after-hours crisis response.
2.Supervise and evaluate the clinical work of Masters level trainees and interns in Counselor Education and Social Work and participate in training activities of the center.
3.Attend Weekly Clinical and staff meetings, participate in center, student affairs and university wide committees as directed.
4.Complete clinical documentation and clinical preparation; perform administrative duties as assigned by the director.
Decisions of the CPS staff are governed by ethics and standards of professional practice; licensing requirements of the State of Ohio; Ohio University policies and procedures; CPS policies and procedures; and HIPAA Standards. A background check is required. Start date is negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Masters degree from an accredited Counseling or Social Work program by the time of appointment. Must be licensed in Ohio as a Professional Counselor or Social Worker by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of postmasters clinical/counseling experience with adult populations; licensed as PCC or LISW; experience and interest in providing psychological services to diverse populations including persons of color, international students, non-traditional students, veterans, persons with disabilities and LGBTQ populations, training in providing individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and psychological assessment of college or adult population, experience providing supervision to Counseling/Social Work trainees or in a related field.

Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare is recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse with considerable knowledge of practical nursing procedures in order to administer nursing care within scope of practice as set forth in Division (F) of Section 4723.01 of Ohio Revised Code under direction of registered nurse. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Administers oxygen; applies sterile dressing; adheres to infection control practices; inserts catheters; reinserts gastrostomy tubes, suctions, irrigates wounds; collects specimens; assists physicians with physical exams, treatments &/or laboratory tests; assists in emergencies by administering first-aid, performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation; restrains patients as necessary; administers controlled drugs [e.g., narcotics, minor tranquilizers] & non-controlled medication in oral, rectal, topical or injectable form [i.e., intramuscular & subcutaneous injections only] & provides medication instructions to patients). Maintains medication accountability records (e.g., charts patient records, prepares & counts medication, maintains medication stock & medical equipment & supplies); observes, documents & reports patient conditions (e.g., medication reactions, treatment responses, patient behavior & progress) & prepares &/or maintains related reports & records (e.g., unusual incident reports, patient records, medication reports, seclusion/restraint logs, treatment plan). Provides general nursing, direct care &/or programming assistance (e.g., takes patient vital signs; assists with personal grooming & hygiene, bathing or daily living activities; administers topical ointments & solutions, eye, ear &/or nose drops; responds to patient codes; escorts patients & assists with recreational activities & scheduled appointments; provides one to one &/or group intervention & patient therapeutic education as stated in the treatment plan). Provides assistance (i.e., provides work direction, orientation & training) to lower-level direct care staff (e.g., therapeutic program workers, psychiatric attendants) in providing general unskilled nursing care (e.g., dressing, bathing, feeding) to patients; precepts & provides direction to new LPN staff as assigned; attends & participates in various meetings (e.g., staff conferences, committees, interdisciplinary team meetings, in-service training programs, meetings) as required.
