Join our team. Verizon is seeking an experienced attorney to act as lead counsel to its Small and Medium Business Products team. You will provide business-minded counsel that enables Verizon to go-to-market with digital first solutions, web hosting, domains, local listings and other products tailored to the SMB market. You will act as lead counsel for this team and advise on a wide variety of commercial and corporate endeavors as well as identify and analyze legal issues arising from product reviews, marketing materials, vendor negotiations, and other related matters. You will provide clear recommendations to the clients and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Conduct fulsome legal review of new products and enhancements to existing products;

  • Manage subject matter expert inputs and issue final legal approvals prior to product launches;

  • Coordinate with other legal experts in specialized areas as necessary such as intellectual property, litigation and tax.

  • Collaborate with technical and engineering resources and advise stakeholders on interpretation of legal issues arising from laws, regulation and contracts;

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise clients on commercial arrangements with strategic partners.

  • Participate and counsel clients through all stages of the product lifecycle (design, review, approve, go-to-market, and wind down;

  • Stay up-to-date on and communicate business impacting regulatory and policy changes; and

  • Create, update and communicate legal requirements for the product development process.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • JD degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • California Bar membership and needed licenses.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Google G Suite.

  • Experience advising clients on regulations and laws applicable to online marketplaces, digital first solutions and bringing products to market.

  • Experience helping solve business challenges and resolving legal issues arising from use of big data initiatives and search engine optimization.

Even better if you have:

  • A Technical background.

  • Served as group counsel to a line of business or C-Suite Executive.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced deliverable driven environment managing multiple executive visibility obligations.
