Staff Cost Accountant

Shutterfly is looking for an ambitious Cost Accountant who wants to make an immediate impact. This position will report to our Cost Accounting Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

• Month, Quarter, and Annual closing procedures related to Cost Accounting responsibility areas assigned

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts timely and accurately

• New item creation and item maintenance in the material master

• Scheduling and monitoring of cycle counting program including preparation of monthly cycle count results and preparation and management of the quarterly cycle count remediation program

• Working with procurement and warehouse teams and advising on inventory transactions

• Assisting with the scrap tracking and reporting process

• Preparation of audit requests along with support for various selections

• Proactive identification of accounting issues and improvement of existing processes

• Support ERP system upgrades and enhancements

• Create and update documentation of assigned processes, as needed

• Various projects to assist the Sr Accountants, Manager, Director, and Controller

Experience We're Looking For

• Ability to show initiative by seeking ways to improve processes and data analysis

• High attention to detail and ability to multi-task

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to foster a collaborative environment

• Drive to meet and exceed deadlines

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Qualifications to Apply

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree Accounting/Finance/Business

• Knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to recognize and accurately record transactions, support balances, and document processes and procedures

• Experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and complex formulas

Preferred Qualification

• Experience in SAP ERP system
