Job Description: Summary

The Print Shop Staff Coordinator position provides duplication and reproduction support to meet the printing needs of all University faculty and staff. This includes completion of smaller duplication jobs for individual faculty/staff to large scale production jobs for special events/mailers; from job intake to job completion and billing. In addition to the duplication/production of material and associated administrative tasks, the Staff Coordinator would also be responsible for maintaining production supply inventory and scheduling equipment repairs and routine maintenance.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Duplication of materials for faculty/staff/students

  • Perform administrative support for the Print Shop

  • Assists in reproduction of publications and forms by:

  • Performing basic layout and design to improve appearance of final product

  • Operating digital production press equipment

  • Utilizing production finishing equipment such as: book binding, industrial folding and stapling machines, hydraulic paper cutter, and associated post production machinery as required

  • Entering costs of production jobs into billing system(s)

  • Maintain inventory of office and production supplies including but not limited to bindings, equipment parts, packing/shipping supplies, paper, toner, etc.

  • Performing minor production equipment repairs, maintain equipment repair logs, and contact associated vendor(s) to coordinate/schedule equipment repairs and routine maintenance

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work in fast pace, detail-oriented environment

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with desk top publication programs such as: Adobe Photoshop, Fusion Pro, Printsmith, etc. is preferred

  • Manage time effectively to meet customer/production job deadlines

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically: Word, Excel, and Publisher

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school Diploma, GED. AA preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to operate commercial reproduction equipment, hydraulic paper cutters, industrial grade staplers, hole punch machines, industrial folding and stapling equipment

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

  • 2 years of experience in a Print Shop/Copy Center or equivalent office preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs

  • Ability to work in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time
