ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary
Provides direct patient care on assigned units, member of interdisciplinary treatment team, attends to spiritual/emotional needs of patients, families, & staff. Takes in-house on-call responsibility in rotation on weekdays and weekends.
Responds to all all deaths, codes, critical events, and traumas; attends to ordered screens and consults and to referrals. Responds to requests for consultations on healthcare ethics and advance directives. Provides televised Sunday worship and additional special service leadership in rotation. Serves as preceptor for CPE students.
Minimum Requirements
College Degree plus other schooling
Master of Divinity or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of one unit of ACPE accredited Clinical Pastoral Education
Board Certification or eligible for Board Certification with Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains or equivalent within two years of hire.
Employment as minister in local congregational setting (two for one)
