GVSU Athletics is recruiting a full-time staff athletic trainer to join our collaborative team of healthcare providers beginning July 2024. As a member of the healthcare team, working under the direction of a physician and in accordance with Michigan Licensure, this individual is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of healthcare as it related to the BOC Professional Standards and the BOC Practice Domains and Tasks.

Our team consists of 9 full-time clinical athletic trainers, an adjunct athletic trainer, a non-clinical athletics healthcare administrator, 5 primary team physicians including a physician medical director and physician surgical director, 4 sport performance coaches, a part-time physical therapist, and an administrative assistant. We provide the highest quality student-athlete centered health care, wellness, and performance development. We are committed to collaboration with campus and community stakeholders to enhance the availability of resources.
This position includes full benefits (retirement, health insurance, paid time off, etc.), NATA dues, professional licensure fee, staff parking and recreation center membership.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Provide health care primarily to the women's wrestling and women's swim & dive teams. Communication and collaboration with sport coaches and sport performance coaches.
Coordination of care with other health care providers. Home and away event coverage. Performs other duties as required/assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree.
BOC Athletic Trainer Certification.
Must hold or be eligible for a Michigan Athletic Training License.
Minimum one-year professional experience post-certification.
Driving to medical appointments or with team travel may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
SALARY
$45,000 - $53,000, commensurate with experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal clinical environment. Some travel may be required.
