This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.

Job Description

The Staff Assistant II-PT position performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities. Duties include answering and directing phone calls, managing incoming email, maintaining office supplies and the storage of supplies, and providing support with various projects. This position is located in the Elections Office.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting with routine clerical work such as answering phones, greeting visitors, handling mail, and maintaining office supplies

  • Assisting with scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating appointments for various staff members or teams

  • Providing high level customer service

  • Preparing and managing documents to include data entry, filing, copying, and organizing records.

  • Drafting correspondence and/or reports

  • Assisting in organizing meeting to include preparing agendas, setting up meeting rooms, and taking meeting notes

  • Performing data entry utilizing various databases and/or spreadsheets. While ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Representing Gwinnett County Elections with upmost professionalism and courtesy.

Other Job Requirements/Information

  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

Grade

The grade for this position is 97.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D AND
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (Any person employed or retained by a county election superintendent to undertake any election related duties arising from this chapter shall be a citizen of the United States. OCGA § 21-2-78. Added by 2024 Ga. Laws 599,§ 1, eff. 7/1/2024.)

In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law.
