Job Summary:

ON Semiconductor is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join their Computing Power team, located in Richardson, TX. As an Applications Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be a lead engineer responsible for the development, verification, and validation of power management devices.

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand application needs and end-usage of power management products, contribute with system level understanding to new product definition.

  • Perform design and debug of board designs (schematic generation, component selection, and PCB layout) used during product development and validation.

  • Demonstrate technical skills in the lab, perform bench evaluations and measurements to support product design releases.

  • Understand product technical requirements, validate design performance for high volume manufacturing, and generate supporting documentation.

  • Produce evaluation tools and results: proof-of-concept hardware, demo boards, technical presentations, application notes, support of press articles and trade fair/roadshow items, etc.

  • Solve technical issues for customers. Be able to communicate with customer and understand customer issues. Support customer quality issues.

  • Work with multiple teams on multiple tasks, with efficient communication and reporting.


  • 3 years with Bachelor's or Master's Degree in E.E in an applications engineering role

  • Must have strong understanding of power electronics (i.e. Buck/Stepdown Regulators)

  • Proficient LabVIEW program development is a big plus

  • Hands on experience in hardware design - understand PCB design (schematic capture and layout), ability to pick right components based on system requirements

  • Must be experience with lab testing equipment, tools - Oscilloscope, Power supplies, function generator, multi-meter, etc;

  • Familiar with electrical circuit/system simulation and simulation tools such as PSPICE, LTSPice, etc.

  • Proficient circuit analysis skills and good knowledge of analog building blocks, e.g. op amps, transistors, voltage references, oscillators, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and enthusiasm for solving customer problems in a collaborative manner

In this highly visible role as a Lead Cloud Engineer you will: Outline and Oversee the DevSecOps delivery of support and operations of the Cisco Live Streaming environment, delivering live video streaming broadcasts and interactions to users globally over our comprehensive solution including a scheduling admin, global CDN, and web and social applications. Document, manage and oversee processes and policies to ensure the successful operations and delivery of Cisco Live Streaming services to all live broadcast events and users Address and resolve support issues or incidents Maintain and manage the Cisco Live Streaming environment including release and change management, escalation procedures, automation, access, self healing, etc. Who You Will Work With In this role, you will be outlining requirements, delivering, and supporting the next generation live events and streaming collaboration and social platform, empowering Cisco and our employees to engage, collaborate and transform. Documentation of operational practices such as SLAs / Maintenance Windows / Escalation Procedures. Ensure processes align with Cisco guidelines and follow established Change Management procedures. Manage application lifecycles: regular Patch Management / Upgrades / Break-Fix. Change Management / Configuration Management / Problem Management / Availability Management / Alert & Event Management /Incident Management. Service-level reporting: Availability / Incidents / SLAs Provide appropriate service-level reporting, including Availability, Incidents, SLAs, and other metrics as required. Maintain appropriate IT service and continuity management plans that align with business tolerance. Willingness to 'go over and above' and do whatever it takes to ensure success.
