We are looking for a Staff Analog Mixed-signal IC design engineer in our Alameda, CA location.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Ultra-Low-Power (ULP) complex circuits for implantable medical devices that push the boundaries of ULP design
Explore cutting edge architectures and implement circuits for the innovative biomedical ICs. Propose new architectures to help future products
Stay up to date with latest industry trends and technologies in ultra-low-power mixed-signal design
Detail Schematic and Post layout simulation to ensure high-performance standard.
Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including Physical designers, system engineers, researchers, etc
Contribute to IC bring-up of prototype systems and chips
Work with test engineer to develop and execute test plans to validate design performance and reliability
Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction and juggle multiple priorities and deliver against a schedule
Document the design and simulation result for design review
Key Qualifications:
PhD with five plus year experience industry experience working on Analog, Mixed-signal IC design with track record of successful tape-outs
Expertise in design and analysis of ultra-low power (sub uW) analog/mixed-signal blocks such as amplifiers, ADCs, reference/bandgaps, Linear Regulators, etc
Strong intuitive and analytical understanding of transistor-level circuit design including sub-threshold design, noise, nonlinearity, mismatch, and other analog impairment
Experience working in lab and familiarity with using relevant equipment
Strong understanding of device physics, layout design rules, and circuit simulation tools
Familiar with schematic, layout, and post layout simulation in the cadence flow
Organized, self-motivated, ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities; high attention to detail
Effective interpersonal/communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or strong interest for working on medical devices and Class 3 implants
Knowledge on Ultra Low power ADCs, Sensor front end, DC-DC converter, or MPPT is a plus
Design experience of wirelessly powered ICs in industry (IoT, Medical, etc)
