The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, tax return preparation, financial analysis, audit support and financial reporting. They will be expected to perform assigned responsibilities timely and accurately. Monthly transaction details will be analyzed to ensure accuracy. Concise communication skills are key - written and verbal.
Assist in the preparation of monthly income statement and balance sheet in accordance with monthly close schedule:
Analyze and explain fluctuations for assigned accounts.
Estimate and book accounting accruals for certain revenue and expense accounts.
Prepare journals for any reclassifications with supporting documentation.
Complete account reconciliations, analyze and research balance sheet reconciling items and clear timely:
Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations according to month-end close schedule.
Document reconciling items and resolve identified items.
Assist and comply with external auditing and reporting requirements
Prepare necessary documents and support for state reviews and audits.
Assist auditors understanding of processes by providing detail explanations and account examples.
Support compliance function through coordination with insurance broker for certificates of insurance, tracking of business and vehicle licenses/permits.
Provide resource for ad hoc reporting and analysis
Assist with necessary special projects as directed.
Reconcile accounts monthly and clear reconciling items within 60 days of original reconciliation.

Full compliance with judicial jurisdictions and customer insurance requirements.
We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills
4-year accounting degree from accredited university.
2+ years' experience as a staff accountant preferred
Must be a self-starter with an ability to work individually and with others to achieve department goals. Excellent interpersonal skills and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Good analytical skills and critical thinking required
Ability to work in high volume of transactions, deadline driven environment.
Detail oriented with good organization and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to reconcile complex general ledger account, journal entries and financial statement analysis (GAAP knowledge and accounting research skills a plus)
Experience working within a large ERP system and advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access etc.) a plus.
