Position Overview:

Xometry is looking for a Staff Accountant that will help with the day to day operations of the accounting department including accounting operations. He or she will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Maintains financial records for company by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts

  • Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information

  • Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects

  • Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries

  • Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals

  • Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential

  • Performs accurate and timely accounts payable activities including month-end/year-end closing schedule preparation

  • Codes items such as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system

  • Prepares vendor set-ups, ensuring receipt of W9s and verifying key information

  • Prepares batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions

  • Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions

  • Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings

Qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with accounting payable process and monthly cycle

  • Proficient in QuickBooks, MS Excel and experience with other accounting software

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills

  • Ability to follow up on pending issues

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ideal candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization skills, thrive in a fast pace environment and a keen attention to detail

We are seeking a Senior Principal Accountant, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting who will be responsible for researching technical issues and drafting technical memos as well as assisting with the preparation of the SEC reporting for our two filing entities, SOX compliance and our technical accounting globally – both US GAAP and IFRS. This role is based in Gaithersburg, Maryland and will report to the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. This is a highly visible role with lots of opportunity to see the big picture and interact with other teams – Executive Team, Finance, Operations, Internal Audit, IT, and Subsidiary Management teams, to name a few. He/She must be able to take initiative, have an understanding of technical accounting, compliance, financial statement reporting as well as the close process. He/She must have excellent organizational and writing skills and be a self starter that is able to work independently and on teams. Responsibilities: * Draft technical memos and succinctly present issues and conclusions to management * Assist with timely adoption of all required Accounting Standards Updates. * Perform ongoing assessments for areas like impairment, fair value accounting, etc. * Assist with all required financial statements and forms with the SEC, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and DEF 14A, which requires close coordination with our legal team * Assistance with quarterly and annual earnings release, investor decks, Audit Committee materials and other outside communications as appropriate. * Assist with the external audits, including the integrated audit of financial statements, joint venture financial reports, employee benefit plan audits and statutory audits * Responsible for overseeing and maintaining appropriate documentation and identification of the Company's SOX key processes and controls * Responsible for preparation of the SOX annual report and assessment of internal control deficiencies in conjunction with Internal Audit Basic Requirements: * Bachelor in Accounting with a minimum of 6+ years of progressive technical accounting and SEC reporting experience * 3+ years public accounting, Big Four a plus * CPA – Active * Travel for business purposes, international and/or domestic, will be required but it should be less than 20% of the time. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's in Accounting * Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations and technical accounting research capabilities * Experience international consolidation/translation * IFRS a plus * Prior experience working with large, global ERP systems (Oracle or SAP); Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Planning * Experience with Workiva * High emotional IQ – very strong communication and influencing skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functional and business groups * A successful track record in getting to the right accounting position * A proven ability to be decisive, resolve issues and deliver on commitments and deadlines * Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in problem solving and project collaboration * Superior organization and prioritization skills * Proven self-starter that doesn't need much guidance to get projects done in an excellent manner * Excellent writing skills * Excellent Excel modeling skills * Strong PowerPoint presentation skills EchoStar and its Affiliated Companies are committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
