The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Position Summary

A member of the income tax compliance team. Responsible for preparing tax returns and providing on-going support to the tax compliance and tax accountings teams. Assist compliance managers and seniors in completion of tax compliance special projects. Also, provide needed information to Tax Leadership for a broad range of planning projects. Assist the compliance with implementing the new process and automation implementation.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of the consolidated tax return for the consolidated group and business units.

  • Perform international compliance including: 1042, 1118, 5471, and 5472s; complete tax return work by specified deadlines.

  • Preparation of multi-state corporate income and franchise tax returns including coordinating, gathering and analyzing supporting data

  • from internal and external resources.

  • Assist Tax Manager/Tax Senior with managing and maintaining the processes and systems of federal and state local tax

  • compliance which includes estimated cash payments, cash tax forecasts, extensions, etc.

  • Assist in the preparation of US Quarterly and annual income tax provision. This includes journal entry and account reconciliation preparation.

  • Assist when needed with adherence to department policies regarding managing, updating and ensuring the tax accounting quarterly

  • and annual procedures and compliance with required SOX control objectives.

  • Provide support for federal and state income tax audits by working with the Tax Manager/Tax Senior to respond to IDRs.

  • Provide assistance in areas of tax planning and special projects.

  • Assist with implementing new process and automation implementation.

  • Work closely with other tax accounting and tax compliance staff to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-2 years in income tax related field

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Finance or related field

  • Master's degree in Taxation preferred

  • CPA license preferred

  • Experience with Corporate Income Tax Returns and ASC 740

Preferred Qualifications and

  • Action-oriented self-starter with excellent project management skills

  • Able to manage competing priorities and multiple time sensitive projects in a dynamic environment

  • Results drive with ability to take initiative and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work effectively both as part of team and independently

  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or large corporate tax department

  • Strong working knowledge of income tax and provision software (i.e. OneSource), on-line research tools (i.e. RIA checkpoint), and accounting systems (i.e. SAP)

Performs monthly pre-close and close activities for assigned surgery centers as needed in compliance with existing Policy and Procedures and training in a timely and accurate fashion. 2. Communicates and coordinates with the Business Office Managers, Regional Business Office Directors and/or Assistant Vice Presidents in matters related to assigned centers. 3. Performs monthly close activities for dissolved or non-Surgery Partners, Inc. model surgery centers as needed in compliance with existing Policy and Procedures in a timely and accurate fashion as directed by Central Accounting Department Accounting Managers 4. Responsible for understanding normal surgery center business office activities related to daily cash receipts, accounts payable, payroll administration and patient accounting system reconciliation. 5. Support AVP's in analysis and/or proformas/projections as needed for Board and other Executive meetings. 6. Assists in budget reviews in addition to participating in administration of the Surgery Partners budget system/process. 7. Provides coordination and liaison services in relationship to corporate audit assistance. 8. Responsible for monthly reporting of Statistical Data provided by the centers. 9. Performs special project assignments as identified by the Assistant Vice Presidents, Accounting Managers – Central Accounting or Senior Accountants – Central Accounting. 10.
