JOB TITLE: STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Shared Services
DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING
STATUS: NON - EXEMPT
In your role as Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:
Coordinating and communicating pertinent information with department manager, team members and other departments in a multi-company shared services environment.
Maintain, track and bill all brewery rebates, promotional and bill back items.
Process account payables, coding and approval verifications, posting of invoices, and disbursing of checks.
Process invoice and EFT notifications ensuring accuracy of purchase orders for inventory, pricing and G/L coding.
Analyze accounting processes and financial reports for accuracy and consistency. Participate and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Make necessary recommendations and changes in accordance with GAAP and PLCB and MALA Laws.
Maintaining and tracking account receivables for all customers, including escrow accounts, and process all returned checks according to company procedures and PLCB and MALA laws.
Perform bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
Support financial audits by providing needed documentation and information.
Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP rules and PLCB and MALA laws.
Protect the organizations value by keeping information confidential and secure. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Provide a consistent, positive image of Ace Distributing, its executives and employees to both in-house and outside public.
To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:
Graduate of high school or GED equivalent. Accounting certification or degree is preferred but not required.
Three (3) years relevant work experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
Employee should have proficient math, reading, writing skills, as well as Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Route Accounting Software knowledge preferred.
Bank reconciliation experience preferred.

Physical aspects of the job: This position is in an office environment with controlled temperature. Employees are frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate office equipment and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
