Staff Accountant, Sales Audit

We are hiring a Staff Accountant to work closely with our Sales Audit Supervisor in the Accounting/Finance Department. The Staff Accountant will perform various tasks to support the Cash Receipts functions, filing of sales and use tax returns, journal entries, and month-end related reconciliations. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Develop knowledge base in Company cash receipts and accounting systems and participate in system testing and enhancements.
Communicate with customers, both internal and external to the Company, regarding cash related items.
Prepare sales and use tax returns and reconcile corresponding general ledger accounts.
Prepare monthly accrual entries for various banking and credit fees.
Prepare weekly interface of sales and cash receipts from store based system (Balance) into accounting (Lawson) system.
Research, respond, and reconcile chargebacks.
Prepare and conduct analysis of relevant general ledger accounts.
Prepare of Company proprietary gift card balances and activities.
Participate in special projects within the Accounting Department or any other requests from management as required.
You will come with
1-3 years experience in accounting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
Bank reconciliation or cash analysis experience a plus
Prior general ledger account reconciliation experience desired
Prior experience with data extraction and manipulation desired
Working experience in Lawson desired
Proficient in MS Excel and Word
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
