Staff Accountant, Sales Audit

We are hiring a Staff Accountant to work closely with our Sales Audit Supervisor in the Accounting/Finance Department. The Staff Accountant will perform various tasks to support the Cash Receipts functions, filing of sales and use tax returns, journal entries, and month-end related reconciliations. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

You will

  • Develop knowledge base in Company cash receipts and accounting systems and participate in system testing and enhancements.

  • Communicate with customers, both internal and external to the Company, regarding cash related items.

  • Prepare sales and use tax returns and reconcile corresponding general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare monthly accrual entries for various banking and credit fees.

  • Prepare weekly interface of sales and cash receipts from store based system (Balance) into accounting (Lawson) system.

  • Research, respond, and reconcile chargebacks.

  • Prepare and conduct analysis of relevant general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare of Company proprietary gift card balances and activities.

  • Participate in special projects within the Accounting Department or any other requests from management as required.

You will come with

  • 1-3 years experience in accounting

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Bank reconciliation or cash analysis experience a plus

  • Prior general ledger account reconciliation experience desired

  • Prior experience with data extraction and manipulation desired

  • Working experience in Lawson desired

  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
