RRD has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant! We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the Accounting Team of a Fortune 500 Company!

The Nashville Shared Services Center is looking for a qualified candidate to join the accounting staff. This position will focus on the timely and accurate processing of major accounting information for the company. The position requires a proficiency in the areas of complex account reconciliations, problem solving, and financial analysis. The position will also require processing journal entries, processing and reviewing subledger systems, and support for month end close. The candidate should work well in a team environment and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop journal entries and perform analysis in key accounting areas for domestic platforms

  • Perform data entry duties for a variety of transactions and sub-ledger processes

  • Work effectively with internal customers and other team members to deliver quality accounting services in a timely and professional manner

  • Reconcile key, complex accounts and maintain internal controls

  • Prepare basic financial, operational and analytical reporting

  • Perform system maintenance updates to assist in preparing basic financial, operational and analytical reporting

  • Identify and implement ideas and practices to improve processes and /or accuracy

  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close deadlines

  • Communicate accounting matters with other shared service departments and company locations (i.e. Financial Reporting, AP, Payroll, Corp Tax, IT, etc)

  • Field questions regarding accounting information

  • Assist with special projects, reports and perform other duties as assigned, requested, or self-determined

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance

  • 2-4 years of professional accounting experience required

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of general ledger set up and processing routines such as journal entries, allocations, and month end closing

  • Experience in system troubleshooting and delivering solutions to produce a desired output

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Excel required

  • Ability to multitask and management shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid understandings of generally accepted accounting theory

  • Ability to perform reconciliations and general ledger reports

  • Good problem solving, communications, interpersonal, analytical, and time management skills required

  • Accounting Shared Service experience in a large, multi-national, publicly-held corporation preferred

  • Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Essbase, and SAP system experience preferred

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES FOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT: * Responsible for preparation of accurate and timely financial recordkeeping and ensure adherence to business management related policies and procedures, including AR, AP, Bank Reconciliations, and other GL Account Reconciliations * Review & approve expense coding from bill pay process * Reconcile & resolve issues for each client monthly * Monitor transactions & accounts to ensure payments are current and processed efficiently * Review with credit card downloading and account coding for accuracy * Assist with year-end 1099 processing and tax packages * Assist Senior Staff Accountants and Team Controllers as needed * Handle Ad hoc projects as needed * Review and manage AP specialist work to meet requirements * Second review of all bill pay and transactions * Responsible for preparation of commission statements * Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries. * Prepare initial payroll registers * Monitor employee's receipt matching * Assist with monthly and annual budgeting POSITION SUMMARY STAFF ACCOUNTANT This position requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
