Robert Half Finance is looking for a talented, accurate Staff Accountant to fill a full-time position within an innovative company. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Atlanta, Georgia area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Your responsibilities

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Requirements

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • ERP system experience

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

  • 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • High attention to detail

  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Solid understanding of journal entries

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
