This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This position will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a complex understanding Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact

  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Requirements

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Payroll experience

  • Expertise in accounts receivable

  • Foundational knowledge in month end closings

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
