In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you might be a good fit for this role.   • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Proficiency in accounts receivable

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Expertise in accounts payable

  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why" - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
