As a critical member of the Accounting Team, the Staff Accountant, Revenue Recognition and Accounting includes the following responsibilities:

  • Performs customer billing function and ensures that invoices and associated details are remitted to customers in a timely manner.

  • Tracks and monitors collection and billing status of customer accounts receivable.

  • Works closely with commercial sales team to clearly understand all transactions and events each period.

  • Assists in the preparation of journal entries and associated documents related to revenue recognition.

  • Prepares finished goods reconciliation.

  • Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Constantly works to improve pre-existing processes. Develops new processes and procedures to be implemented in a fast-growing environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

  • CPA or working toward CPA certification, preferred.

  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience preferred.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Proficient in MS Excel.

  • Strong aptitude for financial and accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics AX experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

POSITION SUMMARY As a member of the Delivery Business Management (DBM)team, this person's primary role will be to lead the day to day Finance andAccounting operation for services associated with the delivery and securityorganization. Will direct work ofnon-management staff for general accounting tasks in support of DBM, with a focuson the following: * Support Monthly Close process * Provide support for both monthly forecast and annual budget processes for the assigned units within the Delivery Business Management team * Process accounts payable and billing transactions * Perform general ledger processing and provide reports * Deploy against complex towers / IT leaders for tracker file maintenance * Lead a team of 5 Sr. Accounting Assistants EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION * Performthe following types of basic tasks: tracker updates, AP processing, accruals,capital expenditure processing, amortization schedules, critiques, Marrstarrecord updates and P&L reviews. * Completeaccurate and timely financial information in appropriate systems (Tracker,Peoplesoft, On Demand, Marrstar, EPM, Apptio, Aestiva, etc.) * Conductand/or review general accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accountsreceivable, analysis, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation,research, internal control reviews and report generation. * Support annual forecasting/budget process for units under his/her responsibility which includes preparation of detail forecast/budgets, and allocations. * Ensure P&L are accurate; costs are recorded properly and statements distributed to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner. * Partner with FBP iT leaders and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with Revenue Recognition in accordance with GAAP. * Ensure all assets are recorded and depreciated in the appropriate units and in accordance with Corporate policy. * Support a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, profitability and mitigate risk. * Championingstrong control environment and leading continued process improvement * Providea moderate to high level of supervision and coaching, including managing theworkflow and development of senior accounting assistants. Provide continuousfeedback as part of the LPA process. * Performother related duties including ad hoc reporting, project support, etc., asassigned by manager. CANDIDATE PROFILE * BS/BA in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience. * 3 years of relevant accounting/finance experience. * Supervisory experience preferred. * Thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures, and techniques of accounting, and of financial records and transactions including, but not limited to, generally accepted accounting principles * Strong communications (verbal and written), organization and presentation skills * Proficient knowledge of Excel required * Knowledge of operating procedures, controls and governances * Ability to leverage resources in the accomplishment of objectives * Exceptional organizational skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments. Project management skills * Excellent interpersonal skills.
