Responsibilities include:

  • Accounting for the Company's loan transactions posting to the general ledger

  • Assisting in the management of the Company's SOX program

  • Supporting the accounting needs of various Company business units

  • Ad-hoc accounting, internal control, regulatory/compliance research, and other special projects as directed by Financial Reporting Management

Key Skill Sets or Knowledge

Requirements:
  • Support Accounting Management by maintaining and updating a documented system of accounting policies, procedures and process documents

  • Prepare periodic, month-end, and quarter-end journal entries to properly account for the Company's loan transactions under U.S.

  • Make daily reconciliations for specific loan related general ledger accounts

  • Arrange month-end reconciliations for general ledger accounts and quarter-end roll-forward schedules

  • Prepare financial reporting schedules related to general ledger activity for internal and external reporting

  • Provide business unit support for internal management reporting initiatives

  • Collaborate with business units to ensure adequate training concerning lending products and the general ledger

  • Review SOX documentation for accounting and other business units and provide best practice guidance

  • Ensure process documentation and desktop procedures are accurate and are updated as refinements to processes occur

  • Assist with special projects as directed by Accounting Management

  • Support independent public accounting auditors, regulators, and internal auditors as directed by Financial Reporting Management

Desired Career Experience &

Education Requirements:
  • Proficiency with use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and use of the Internet

  • Organizing, conceptualizing, and prioritizing objectives and analyzing and processing critical accounting functions in a high growth environment

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in accounting or finance

WHAT IS THE LARGE BUSINESS & INTERNATIONALDIVISION? The Large Business and International (LB&I) business unit provides service and enforcement activities to support tax compliance of businesses and related entities with assets of $10 million or more, as well as small U.S. businesses engaged in international, U.S. citizens abroad, and foreign persons and businesses with a U.S. tax requirement. WHAT DOES A COMPUTER RESEARCH ANALYST DO? As a Computer Research Analyst, you will contribute to research projects through effective application of principles of computer methodology and technology. You will be responsible for conducting research on trends, issues, problems and opportunities in tax administration. Assignments typically involve the development and application of new techniques and require innovative solutions, including adapting or synthesizing existing principles and techniques into original combinations or configurations for the solution of critical features or problems. As a Computer Research Analyst you will: * Monitor current and emerging automation and technology trends, investigating new computer technologies while ensuring computer security and taxpayer privacy. * Plan and conduct computer automation application to compliance research studies. The incumbent develops and initiates sound solutions through effective application of principles of computer methodology and technology as well as tax law knowledge. * Plan, initiate and conduct compliance research and research evaluations. Maintains thorough knowledge of commercial computing technology. * Provide computer assistance to staff and researchers.
