STAFF ACCOUNTANT

• Location Puyallup, WA

• Pay $67,725 - $74,880/ year DOE

• Full-Time Opportunity - Monday-Friday during normal business hours

• Office work environment with a relaxed dress code (opportunity to work remotely about 2 days/week after fully trained)

SCOPE OF POSITION

Northwest Cascade is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including preparing general ledger entries and account reconciliations.

• Review Fixed Asset purchases and disposals, gathering the required documentation and making the appropriate general ledger entries.

• Prepare monthly/quarterly State Excise Tax Reports.

• Ensure compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations, including reviewing invoices for use tax

• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.

• Back up primary accounts payable personnel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, work at a fast pace, and be passionate about taking care of each internal customer, figuring out what they need, and leaving each internal customer feeling they are 100% satisfied.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting

• 2+ years of experience in accounting preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new programs/processes. (Candidates will be assessed as part of the hiring process)

• Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Continia Document Capture preferred)

• Experience with tax research and filing preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to problem solve independently and as a team.

• Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.

• Pass a pre-employment drug test and provide great references.
