Provides support for the accounting and finance teams by performing day to day accounting tasks, account analysis, and month-end closing activities, with the goal of producing accurate financial statements while adhering to appropriate internal controls and deadlines.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares monthly recurring general ledger entries

  • Reconciles bank accounts and balance sheet accounts

  • Helps manage the Accounts Payable process by reviewing and processing invoices and scheduling payment runs

  • Serves as a SAP Concur system administrator by processing employee expense reimbursements and creating new profiles

  • Manages year-end 1099 reporting

  • Assists in tracking and completing Sarbanes-Oxley procedures to ensure company's compliance

  • Assist in month end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.

  • Assist in other accounting projects as needed

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., vlookups, pivots tables, etc.)

  • ERP experience preferred, Oracle Fusion experience a plus

  • Strong attention to detail is required

  • Ability to seek out, identify, and make process improvements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with outside vendors

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum 1-3 years of accounting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Big 4 firm experience

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Duties and responsibilities * Upload daily credit card deposits and prepare schedules for proper G/L posting and reconciliation * Manage credit card charge backs and reversal requests; research and defend charge backs with Visa, MC, and American Express when request from customer is not valid * Assist in all phases of closing and reporting including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations * Maintain fixed asset module * Assist with audit field work * Assist in processing travel and expense reports * Assist in special ad-hoc projects as required Qualifications include: * 1+ years related work experience (accounting or finance preferred) * Intermediate knowledge of Excel applications and formulas * Basic understanding of accounting systems; PeopleSoft experience preferred * Excellent organizational and problem solving skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to take on new duties as needed * Bachelor's degree (accounting or equivalent preferred) Why work for us?
