Staff Accountant with Treasury Experience
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with treasury experience to support our accounting department. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes, while also assisting with treasury-related activities such as cash flow monitoring and banking transactions. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles and a basic understanding of treasury operations. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional looking to expand their accounting expertise while gaining valuable treasury experience.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including financial reporting.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations in all accounting activities.
Treasury Responsibilities
- Monitor daily cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and support banking relationship management.
- Process wire transfers, ACH payments, and intercompany transactions as needed.
- Support the preparation of treasury reports for management review.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance (pass a criminal background and credit check).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–8 years of accounting experience, with exposure to treasury functions preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational abilities with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in construction accounting is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint is a plus but not mandatory.
