Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Hybrid to Wellesley - 2-3 days per week onsite

Job Summary:

Seeking a detail-oriented accountant to maintain precise financial records, support reporting efforts, and perform reconciliations while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include assisting with audits, month-end and year-end closing, collaborating with teams for accurate financial data, and providing backup for various departmental tasks. The ideal candidate will also contribute to special administrative projects as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the organization

  • Support reporting functions, including assisting in preparation of financial, operational, or ad-hoc reports

  • Perform reconciliations of accounts and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations

  • Prepare documentation and schedules for audits, reviews, taxes

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions

  • Serve as backup for AP, AR, or other departmental tasks

  • Assistance with special or recurring administrative projects

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with a professional services firm required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills required

  • Experience with Deltek Maconomy or similar ERP a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (or related degree/course work)
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience in a professional services company

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
