Pet Paradise is looking for a Staff Accountant & Payroll Administrator to join our Corporate team.
Our Company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking a driven, goal-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. The Staff accountant will be responsible for assisting with the bi-weekly payroll process, accounts payable, account reconciliations, automating accounting systems/processes, and maintaining fixed asset accounts. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is looking to grow their skill set with a growing company.
Responsible for processing payroll biweekly for 800+ employees
Oversee Time & Attendance System from Paycor
Assist in training managers/supervisors and employees
Process bi-weekly payroll using Paycor
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Communicates with HR to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, and rate changes
Address and respond to payroll questions from employees, supervisors, & management
Prepare ad-hoc reports for management, finance, etc.
Perform other payroll requests as assigned
Payables & Accounting Function:
Efficiently and accurately enter and code vendor invoices
Reconcile accounts payable ledger between two systems
Reconcile GL to bank account activity
Update vendor records and communicate with vendors about payment instructions
Calculate and file monthly / quarterly sales tax returns
Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Communicate effectively with team to ensure timely financial reporting.
Participate in special projects as needed.
Qualified candidate must have 2 years' experience administering payroll and 2 years' experience in accounting / bookkeeping (concurrent or separate)
A team player who works well with others and can work independently with little supervision
Proven strong customer service and relationship building skills required
Detailed oriented, organized person with exceptional organization and mathematical skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Trustworthy, conscientious, and able to keep information in confidence at all times
Able to effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, employees and outside vendors/agents
Strong written communication skills
High School Diploma or GED required
Job Type: Full-time
