POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff accountant responsibilities include reconciling of all balance sheet account, preparing and entering journal entries. Duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks. The function of this position is to support the finance department and reports to the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reconcile all balance sheet account on a monthly basis

  • Prepare and enter journal entries as needed

  • Produce error-free accounting reports

  • Review monthly financial statement and make corrections as needed

  • Recording of monthly travel expenditures and telephone expense allocation

  • Assist with internal and external audit request

  • When needed provide support and vacation coverage for other team members

  • Prepare monthly Due to/To from Founding Member payments and related reporting

  • Weekly AP check/ACH & EFT run including positive pay notification to bank and NACHA file upload

  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • General knowledge of GAAP

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar programs

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects

  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and able to work in professional office environment

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with moderate level of difficulty

Experience and Training:

Any combination of the following experience and training (designated as required and/or preferred) that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Experience: 0-3 years' experience with an Accounting degree; 3-4 years with no degree.

Education: BS in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Licensure / Certification: None

Work Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

SALARY RANGE & BENEFIT OPTIONS FOR COLORADO APPLICANTS:

Salary Range: Base Salary of approximately $50,000- $68,000 annually plus bonus - compensation is commensurate with skills & experience.
