Staff Accountant

We are excited to add a Staff Accountant to our growing Accounting & Finance team! This role will pay between $68,000 - $80,000 based on experience and educational credentials. This is a hybrid position working in our Marietta, GA headquarters Monday & Wednesday each week.

Summary

The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and be responsible for supporting activities related to the Company's General Ledger accounting processes. The Staff Accountant will be heavily involved in the preparation and support of the recording of accounting entries, account reconciliations, and play a pivotal role in the Company's accounting processes. Finally, the Staff Accountant will assist in ad hoc, cross-functional finance projects which may arise from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the Company's month-end accounting close process through the preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation

• Prepare account reconciliations for general ledger accounts within assigned process areas

• Assist in the implementation of the Company's new Enterprise Resource Planning system, with input specific to the process areas over which the Staff Accountant has ownership

• Provide requested support to external auditors

• Assist in research surrounding emerging GAAP standards and other technical accounting matters on an as-needed basis

• Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or supplant current manual processes

• Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects

Qualifications

A successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

• BS or BA in Accounting or related field

• 0-2 years experience

• Familiarity of the full suite of Microsoft Office software solutions, particularly Microsoft Excel

Preference will be given to those candidates who have the following characteristics:

• CPA License or CPA eligibility

• More than one year of relevant experience, particularly the Big 4

• Familiarity with QAD

• Familiarity with computer programming languages, such as Python or R
