Staff Accountant

Our Staff Accountant will be instrumental in collaborating and coordinating with multiple components of a growing accounting organization for our Breakfast & Snacking division. Success in this role will come from taking proactive ownership of assigned tasks.

How you will contribute to our success:

• Key contact for all partners within the business segment.

• Execute general ledger accounting including maintenance and posting to the general ledger for the following areas:

• Inventory (non-plant related)

• Prepaids

• Intangibles/Goodwill

• Other Assets & Intercompany

• Accrued AP & Expenses

• Marketing

• Other Liabilities / Equity

• Own tasks for, and support, period-end closes and financial reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries.

• Draft and maintain accounting schedules on a regular basis.

• Assist in researching and preparing technical accounting reports or memos based on GAAP.

• Perform account reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts

• Assist with implementation of merging accounting functions across multiple brands.

• Advise the G/L Manager and Senior Accounting Manager immediately of any errors, irregularities, significant adjustments or journal entries as they occur.

• Develop procedures to improve efficiency and maintain company accounting procedures and processes.

• Ensure compliance with all internal processes, policies, controls and US GAAP principles.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-4 years accounting experience preferable with Consumer Products Group (CPG) experience

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

• Professional and effective oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work and interact cross functionally with employees in a professional manner

• Ability to work independently and with a team, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines required

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or NetSuite preferred, however experience with other similar software systems would substitute

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred degree in Accounting or Finance

• Ability to be nimble and agile in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to work independently with previous remote working experience.

The targeted budget for this position is $50K-$65K. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.
