  • Perform all duties necessary for monthly close, year-end close, including supporting both internal & external audits

  • Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages

  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis (prepaid insurance and expenses, A/P, A/R)

  • Analyzing and mapping ledger accounts to appropriate reporting categories

  • Identify financial issues and collaborate with supervisor to identify solutions

  • Preparation and recording of journal entries

  • Fixed assets and depreciation entry and analysis

  • Reconcile billings and collections

  • Preparation of sales & use tax returns

  • Assist in development of system controls to ensure data integrity

  • Assist in development of operational procedures and documentation of work flow

  • Other responsibilities as required (general accounting duties)



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 4-6 years of General Accounting Experience

  • Previous construction industry experience strongly preferred

  • General Ledger, Profit and Loss and Balance Statements, Work in progress schedules and revenue recognition, GAAP procedures

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Sage/Timberline a plus

VIEW JOBS 1/24/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-23T00:00 Overview This position is responsible for accounts receivable duties, including ensuring accuracy of invoices, payments received and posting transactions to several computer databases. This position will also assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and performing financial analysis on Miami Beach Convention Center projects. This position is based at our Miami Beach Convention Center. The newly re-defined Miami Beach Convention Center, often described as a "Center of Creative Collaboration," will continue as a "Gateway to the Americas" by accommodating and attracting national and international events and conventions. The Center hosts national and international trade such as Art Basel Miami Beach and eMerge Americas. The renovated building, complete in 2018, feature nearly 500,000 feet of exhibit space, a brand new 60,000 square foot ballroom, and 81 meeting rooms comprising 190,000 square feet. You can learn more about our venue here: Responsibilities * Maintain accounts receivables (AR) function. * Generate invoices, apply client payments and prepare bank deposits. * Process invoices for event settlements. * Process credit card payments and other cash receipts. * Provide monthly AR aging report to the Director of Finance. * Assist in all collection accounts. * Maintain accounting records for advance show deposit invoices and update show deposits into the event calendar software (Ungerboeck). * Prepare various monthly journal entries. * Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and various audit schedules. * Perform a backup role to the Accounts Payable (A/P) function in the absence of the AP Manager. * Perform financial analysis of various projects, as assigned by the Director of Finance and/or Accounting Manager. * Performs any other functions delegated by Director of Finance and/or Accounting Manager. Qualifications * One year of professional accounting experience preferably including some supervisory experience.
