The Staff Accountant is responsible for journal entry preparation, account analysis and reconciliation, intercompany account reconciliation, internal & external audit support, and certain Ardagh Group reporting requirements. This role also assists the Manager Metal Accounting and VP - Finance in directed analytical and project work.
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including cost allocations and intercompany transactions.
Post journal entries as directed by the Financial Controller.
Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Prepare and review analyses to ensure that all balance sheet accounts are complete per audit requirements.
Prepare SG&A variance reports and support forecasting with additional analysis.
Prepare, send, and reconcile intercompany statements.
Interact with personnel from other Ardagh businesses to finalize month-end balances.
Provide SAP reports and account analysis and respond to inquiries.
Support semi-annual tax packages and support tax department inquiries with ad hoc reports and supporting information.
Prepare work papers as needed by internal and external audits.
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, one to three years of manufacturing experience in entry level finance or accounting position, and/or a CPA.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including US GAPP and IFRS.
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, preferable SAP and HFM.
Excellent professional communication both written and verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to participate in group meetings.
