Your Mission:

The Staff Accountant will assist the GL team to ensure the accurate and timely closing of the monthly accounts, assist with the quarterly and annual audits and ensure controls are followed to maintain compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.

Your Competencies:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

  • Prepare journal entries for monthly close activities

  • Update balance sheet supporting spreadsheets and reconcile to G/L; perform G/L account analysis during month and for accounting close

  • Bank reconciliations: prepare US, UK and Japan reconciliations for review by VP, Finance

  • Manage Fixed Asset Reporting System and assisting with the Annual Fixed Asset Inventory process

  • Work with third party provider to maintain local compliance for statutory account filings and sales tax returns for foreign jurisdictions

  • Review and approve all payroll and T&E journal entries

  • Assist in internal and external audits and any special projects

  • Administration / other: assist with any ad hoc projects and administrative work as needed

Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 3+ years of relevant experience required (public/private mix preferred)

  • Highly self-motivated, disciplined, hands-on, detail-oriented, flexible team player,

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced deadline-oriented environment required

  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines; able to manage multiple priorities to deliver high quality work product required

Roles and Responsibilities: * Manage AP process for the company. * Completing monthly bank recs for 4 bank accounts. * Responsible for maintaining schedules for: Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Prepaids, Accruals. * Completing worksheets for each home transaction (buy & sell side). * Assist with monthly close including financial analysis on actual vs budget. * Work closely with auditors during our annual audit. * Ad hoc duties as assigned Professional Qualifications: * 1-3 years of accounting experience * Undergraduate Degree (preferably in Accounting/Business focus) * Understanding of GAAP * Proficient in MS Excel * Knowledge of Quick Books a plus * Knowledge of Concur a plus Personal Qualifications * Results orientation with a high motor and an incredible attention to detail; able to drive projects from planning to completion with limited oversight * A low ego and can-do attitude; willingness to admit mistakes and work to remedy them * Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to work across diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams * Flexibility to prioritize deliverables and re-prioritize them at a moment's notice * Comfort operating in an ambiguous environment where there's not a set playbook on how to solve each problem Perch New York NY
