Overview
Execute the day-to-day accounting functions of the national land banking process (both GAAP and cash), internal and external reporting requirements, SOX and internal/external audit requirements, and well as working hands-on with our homebuilding divisions.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Involved in all items related to Lennar's land bank process: takedowns, land development draws, option maintenance payments, etc.
Assist in creation and maintenance of land development budgets in JD Edwards
o Reconciliation between cash and accrual land development spend
o Assist in the forecast and re-forecast of future land development spend
Assist with the creation of the quarterly business plan
Manage month-end-close process
Provide detailed and analytical explanations of variances in actual financial data compared to forecasted results
Possess complete understanding of the Accounting Policy Manual and ensure that division is complying with all policies
Responsible for monthly budget review
Provide weekly and monthly statistical/financial reporting to Management
Projects assigned by Corporate, Division President or Controller
Organize and prioritize work activities while utilizing efficient time management skills in meeting deadlines and staying on schedule
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Accounting and financial experience, homebuilding and or land development experience preferred
Advanced computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel, including the use of Hyperion, Essbase and JD Edwards
Excellent attention to detail
Professionally perform multiple, detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines
Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills as well as supervisory skills
Physical Requirements
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry materials and supplies weighing 25 lbs or less. Finger dexterity is necessary.
Additional Requirements
Ability to professionally perform multiple, detail-orientated tasks; good written, verbal and organizational skills; able to follow directions from a supervisor.
