JOB SUMMARY:

This role is one of three roles responsible for abstracting Welltower lease documents and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of revenue according to US GAAP.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities of the Accountant include:

  • Set up and maintain lease agreements in JDE to ensure complete and timely recognition of revenue over the life of the lease for all new, amended or terminated leases

  • Create, update and maintain rent schedules for all master leases

  • Monitor and calculate rent increasers based on language defined in the lease agreement

  • Read and understand lease agreements and other lease related legal documents

  • Review and understand rent roll reports

  • Reconcile rent roll to the general ledger on a monthly basis

  • Prepare and input information into manual billing or recurring billing table

  • Perform lease classification tests to determine proper accounting treatment for new and amended leases

  • Provide internal reporting requirements for all new leases, renewals, terminations and vacancies on a monthly basis

  • Analyze and reconcile revenue accounts on a monthly basis

  • Assist with bad debt review and determinations

  • Communicate with investment teams to ensure appropriate accounting for new or terminated leases

  • Communicate with other internal accounting teams to ensure proper accounting of rent resets

  • Maintain contingent payment schedules and prepare related billing

  • Prepare supporting schedules for applicable external reporting requirements

  • Facilitate all audit requests regarding leases from internal and external auditors

  • Identify areas of process improvement to create more effective and automated processes

  • Provide documentation for all SOX requirements

  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Degree/Certification Required: Undergraduate Accounting/Finance/Business related. CPA is preferred but not required.

Years of Experience: 1-3 years of public or corporate accounting experience is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: This role is primarily responsible for performing accounting and reporting-related duties for Welltower partnerships and operator relationships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibilities of the role include: * Managing the flow of financial information between our business partners/operators and internal/external customers. * Performing monthly uploads and reconciliations of operator financial information. * Executing monthly partnership internal controls and preparing associated workpapers. * Consolidating operator data into consolidated metrics (both financial and nonfinancial). * Performing accounting activities for partnerships and producing accurate financials from accounting information systems. * Calculating monthly distributions to business partners. * Assisting with tax-related tasks including pulling accurate information for tax preparation and ensuring timely completion. * Assisting team with providing information related to internal and external audits. * Performing initial review of monthly operator financial information and following up with operators regarding unusual activity or balances. * Performing other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. Professional certification, CPA is strongly desired. Knowledge of accounting theory, including GAAP and IFRS is preferred.
