Job Description
The Staff Accountant should have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be a skilled accountant and problem-solver who makes things happen. The successful candidate will be hands-on, focused, and energetic. Additionally, the successful candidate will develop relationships with all levels of staff and vendors including members of the Senior Executive team. This position located in the corporate office and will have plenty of exposure and interaction with the Assistant Corporate Controller and the Corporate Controller. Bring you're a game!
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the monthly financial close process:
Prepare and maintain detailed account analysis with supporting documentation; Ability to research and propose month close adjusting entries
Review expenses for proper treatment (i.e. Expense Vs Capitalize, proper coding to account/department/accounting period) and propose adjustments, as applicable
Coordinate the monthly accrual process
Communicate internally and externally for clarification and recording of all expenses in the proper period, with follow-up as needed
Reconcile Fixed Asset Ledger to the General Ledger
Ensure the proper accounting of transactions:
Assist in preparing Accounting memos to support the Company's treatment of key Accounting methodology
Coordinate, document, and maintain all accounting and reporting related to Royalties/OEM agreements with company partners and internal teams
Reconcile calculation to invoices and ensure proper expense recognition
Coordinate internally with Legal to maintain the Company's worldwide lease listing, ensuring proper rent expense recognition
Consolidate and prepare worldwide Balance Sheet / Income Statement audit schedules
Support the external audit effort, including preparation of PBC items
Ad-hoc analysis and projects as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
BA/BS Degree in Finance/Accounting
2-4 years of accounting experience, CPA license / CPA track preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Well-developed analytic and problem solving skills
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time
Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills
High degree of integrity including ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with professionalism
Ability to exhibit poise, composure, and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations
Hands on, disciplined, and detail-oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high volume environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timely
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, MS Word) and ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
