Staff Accountant

Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in Fairport, NY to recruit a Staff Accountant.

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant reports and supports the Controller managing general accounting functions, including accounts payable, treasury functions, reconciliations, and company credit card reimbursements.

Responsibilities:

• Performing accounting and general ledger management, reconciliations, variance analysis, tracking fixed assets, preparing journal entries for month-end close, and supporting budget process.
• Maintaining compliance with corporate records retention policy and centralizing filing both electronically and paper.
• Compiling and analyzing financial information, preparing reconciliations and entries to accounts, disbursements, or receipts.
• Researching, tracking, and resolving account documentation issues and reconciliations discrepancies.
• Providing support with financial operation functions, including actual to budget tracking and forecasts, standardizing process and analysis across all entities.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable processing and purchasing card management and reconciliation.
• Cross train and backup Office Manager and payroll, as needed.
• Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field, Bachelor’s is preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably within public accounting or prior/current manufacturing industry experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, multitasking in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and is self-starting with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills.
• Keen eye for improving processes and automation.
• Proficient with ERP systems, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
